Hey Dads! We are super excited to get another year of DADCAMP started, and are super busy preparing for what will be, in many ways, our most interesting year ever! With the recent proliferation of the COVID-19 virus, and the associated guidelines that the CDC, State, and local authorities have put in place for our protection, we have adapted some of our activities and procedures that you may be used to.
We’ve consulted with many experts and used the CDC guidelines as a baseline in our efforts to put together a plan for the weekend that keeps everyone safe while still providing the opportunities for Dads and kids to connect with each other and with one another.
So just be aware that in some small ways, DADCAMP may seem different this year. But DADCAMP will still be what it has always been: a reprieve from the hectic grind and busy-ness of everyday life that often prevents Dads from connecting with their kids in the way that they both crave. DADCAMP has always been about giving you that margin back that you need to refresh your relationship with your child. That space you need to be able to focus on them and focus on their hearts. While a few things about DADCAMP may change this year, that will not.
So, here is a list of the changes that we have planned to start the season:
What we’ll be doing:
Modifying regular activities to accommodate and adhere to current CDC, as well as State and local, guidelines.
Checking temperatures and wellness of everyone at camp, at check-in and at breakfast every day.
Providing space for social distancing in all interior spaces
Cleaning high contact surfaces and interior spaces regularly throughout the weekend, as well as thoroughly in between camps.
Things we need your help with:
Please bring face masks for your weekend
You may want to bring your own cooler with drinks, as no water or lemonade stations will be provided. There will be bottled water at meals.
Monitor your health and contact with others closely leading up to camp. You will be asked about possible symptoms and potential exposure during check-in.
Sanitize or wash your hands as much as possible throughout the weekend.
If you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 that are listed on the CDC site, we ask with very heavy hearts that you stay home for the weekend, and reach out to us about possibly rescheduling.

Firepit
When gathering at the firepit, please maintain 6’ of space between your family and the families to your right and left
During Gorilla Wars, we will still play the game as usual, but we will not be standing back to back...we will stay spread out around the firepit and the competitors will simply space themselves out 6’ apart when facing each other each round.
Canoe Trips
We will be spreading out the teams a bit during launch time.
We will be cleaning the oars after each trip
We ask that you wear masks during the van ride back to the Valley at the end of your trip, as there may not be the ability to properly distance inside the van.
Inflatables
There will be a limit of six children per blow-up toy this year.
We ask that the dads help monitor their children on these toys and help make sure the kids are staying safe.
We have a new Mega Slide this year, and we ask that it is used with direct parent supervision only.
Attending a DADCAMP event has inherent risk of getting COVID19, and although DADCAMP is taking the above precautions, all risk cannot be mitigated. Attendees accept that risk with no liability on DADCAMP's part. Masks and social distance as you feel or needed based on personal health factors and discussion with your healthcare provider.
DADCAMP will still be what it has always been: a reprieve from the hectic grind and busy-ness of everyday life that often prevents Dads from connecting with their kids in the way that they both crave. DADCAMP has always been about giving you that margin back that you need to refresh your relationship with your child. That space you need to be able to focus on them and focus on their hearts. While a few things about DADCAMP may change this year, that will not.
